Piercing Aftercare

Everything you need to know to heal happy and healthy.

Why aftercare matters 🤍

A piercing is a wound — and like any wound, it needs time and care to heal properly. The better you care for it early on, the smoother the whole process goes. Don't worry, it's simpler than it sounds.

  • Less irritation
  • Shorter healing time
  • Better final result

General Aftercare

Wash your hands before touching your piercing. Gently rinse the area with clean water in the shower. Dry with clean, disposable paper products — not a re-used towel. That's it.

Avoid twisting, turning, or moving the jewelry unnecessarily. Let it be.

What to Avoid

  • No submerging in pools, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans until fully healed
  • No picking at crusties — let them fall off naturally
  • No sleeping on your piercing
  • No changing jewelry before it's fully healed
  • No alcohol-based or scented products near the piercing
What to Avoid

Healing Times

  • Earlobes: 3–4 months
  • Helix / cartilage: 6–12 months
  • Nostril: 4–6 months
  • Navel: 6–9 months
  • Tragus: 6–9 months

Everyone heals differently. These are estimates — your body sets the pace.

Irritation vs. Infection

Irritation is normal in the first few weeks — some redness, swelling, and discharge is common as your body adjusts.

Infection is different: increasing pain, spreading redness, heat, fever, or pus that smells bad. If something feels wrong, text us — we're here to help.

Never ignore worsening symptoms. When in doubt, reach out.
